Tru Glow Juice

Here it is my FIRST juice post! I am so incredibly passionate about juicing. I truly believe it adds so much nourishment to our bodies, cells, blood, brain, tissues, etc., etc., etc,.. This is my favorite morning juice right now. I have really gotten into juicing grapefruit and love its punjent taste to wake up my digestion and taste buds in the A.M.


First things first, I want to share with you my morning routine for creating clarity in my mind and body for the day. Upon waking I warm a cup of water and add to it the juice of one lemon and sip till gone. While sipping I head to my yoga mat for a 30-45 minute practice. Then it’s off to the juicer :). Breaking your Fast (break-fast) in the morning with a fresh juice is the best way to flood your cells with nourishment. Your body doesn’t have to work to break down the fiber of the plants, so the nutrients as easily absorbed right into the blood stream. Can you think of a better way to wake up your body?

Ok here’s my morning juice recipe plus its benefits – or as I like to call it, Tru Glow Juice (cuz you will be glowing from all that nourishment).



1 whole grapefruit skin peeled (try to leave the white pith, lots of bioflavinoids)

1 slice of pineapple skin on

2 kale leaves

1/2 english cucumber or whole regular cucumber

Directions: place ingredients one at a time through your juicer, stir and enjoy :0.



Grapefruits – Rich in Vit. C, petin, carotenoid antioxidants, such and lycopene, which have been observed in studies to curb oxidative stress and combat cancer. They are also high in phytochemicals called limonoids. Research indicates these compounds exhibit strong anticarcinogenic activity. Also Ladies, citrus fruits have been known to help with the reduction of cellulite!

Pineapples – Contain high amounts of bromelain, a type of enzyme that has been shown to shield against several chronic diseases. Bromelain aids in digestion, eases inflammation, and mitigate the symptoms of arthritis. They also pack a high amount of Vit. C , B1 and manganese.

Cucumbers – A wonderful source of hydration and restorative phytonutrients. They are amazing for the skin with there large amounts of Vit. C, K, and potassium as well as silica, a compound needed for healthy connective tissue.

Kale – We’ve all heard about this superfood, but just incase here’s the lowdown. Kale is one of the healthiest greens for your bones. High in calcium, Vit. K and manganese which all help promote bone density. Kale is the top leafy green source of free radical scavenging carotenoids (AKA super cancer preventor!).

side note of Grapefruit juice: Grapefruit may interfere with some medications, such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, and anti-anxiety med.
